The Frozen Fore is a 3 day golf event held around Gull Lake that benefits local charities. This event includes one golf hole at each of the bars, restaurants, and resorts.

Central Minnesota has become a destination for mountain bike riders year around, with the addition of the Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Trail. In the winter, 40 miles of these trails are packed, and another 20 miles of trail are groomed for use by fat tire bikes.

In the early 1960's, the snowmobile business was growing exponentially, as more and more companies jumped into the industry. Today, only 4 snowmobile companies survive: Polaris, Arctic Cat, Ski Doo and Yamaha. One of several Minnesota companies that came and went was Scorpion, built in Crosby, Minnesota.
